Debating on running 35x12.50s on the 06ish 17" tundra OEM wheels.
Read that the wheels were 17x7.5" and 5 BS.

I know it is not recommended to run this combo.. but i've googled it and can't get a straight answer.. there are yays and nays.

I really like these wheels - but also do not want to go down from 12.50. Wide tire looks so much better.

truck will probably never see hardcore offroad.. or offroad in general. Shes a designated mall crawler :p

So, to sum it up, is it DOABLE? Anyone ran this before?

Are tundra wheels 6 lug or 5 lug? All the ones I see are 5 lug.

    I think I shall. Haha

They're 6x5.5. Just have to find the right ones.

Putting the 35 on 7.5" rim is going to narrow it out, actually making the tire taller. Could lead to rub issues, or rolling the tire off the bead. Minimum is generally an 8.5", but a 9" is best.

285/75 is your closest and best match for a 7.5" rim if you are trying to run a 35.

I see what you're saying, I think if all its for is DD and no off-roading it should be fine for the slipping off the bead.

I'm running a 35x12.5x15 on an 8" wide rim and have zero problems. I'm not 100% on whether you could go narrower but I would think so. The tires would just bubble out a bit more and you shouldn't have to worry about slipping off the bead, my buddy's run 15" wide tires on an 8" wide rim and they didn't slip but that could just be coincidence too.
Sorry I don't have a better pic of mine to see but you can get an idea in the second one
