40 mph into the front left of a Ford Taurus. Jumped his hood monster truck style. High school kid decided to change lanes on me right as I got into his rear quarter panel. He was only going like 5 mph and jumped over before looking if anyone was there. Now Im in an Impala rent car...... BARF!

man that sucks. I've had some close calls like that too. Hopefully you won't be riding in that Impala for too much longer.

Well thought I would give another update:

So I installed the Rubber housing caps and added the silica packets after I reheated the lens again and pushed them together a little more just to be safe.

It has been raining pretty good here in Oregon and that is usually when the fogging has returned. So far I'm am happy to report that no more fogging and condensation has returned (keeping my fingers crossed).

Now my retro's are back to looking like they should and I'm happy as all hell again.

For anyone having issues like me this is what I ended up doing to finally fix the problem:

    1. Pulled the lenses apart (used a hair dryer and it worked just took a little bit of time). Cleaned them up and resealed them with extra sealant.

    2. Added silica packets into the housing and also added more sealant to the outside of the housing.

    3. Added housing caps for extra measure.

    4. Cried and prayed a lot that the problem would not return.

Thanks for all the help everyone (still keeping my fingers crossed)

I'd post pics of what they look like now, but it's raining like hell.

I have a new set of headlights to install but before doing so I will check for leaks, add a layer of silicone sealer, reverse the seals and put in some silica pacs.

Can someone please show exactly where the pacs are being placed?

If you remove the housing caps (if you have them) then you can just drop them in there and it will be fine. You shouldn't be able to see them from the front and they should do the trick.

I'm at work so I can't take any pics right now, but that's what I did and it seems to be working. No fogging since I last posted on here and it's been rainy for awhile now.

    Good luck

I haven't noticed it getting too hot or anything and that's where AndrewTRS told me to throw them in so I took his word on it and it's been working.

I have the same issue with my fog lamps. I changed them to LED's and I have condensation building up inside the lens. I used a blow dryer, but I think the temperature difference between the heat of the blow dryer and outside temperature made it worse(its been raining and moisture in the air). Any ideas on a good type of sealant or should I use the original fog lamp O-rings? Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Hmm I'm not too experienced with the fogs, so maybe someone else can chime in on that one. Hope you find a solution though.
