Hey guys, I need some feedback on the possibility of selling some artwork.

I drew this picture of my truck as a sample. It is a 9x12" on watercolor paper.

Here is the drawing partially filled in. I am using oil on watercolor paper, and the possibility will be there to upgrade to canvas. I am thinking around $40 for a full 9x12" oil painting of your truck. Would any of y'all be interested? $10 extra will get you a canvas portrait. The advantage of a canvas is that it will be sturdier, and you would not have to frame it. Seeing as I'm using oil paint on watercolor paint paper, the painting may not last as long as if it were on canvas. Also, every piece I do will be in my free time, so expect about a week for a painting to be complete. I may not be able to work every day; it depends on school work.

Does that price range sound about right? If I get enough interest and positive feedback I will make a thread and sort everything out there.

A bit about me: I am a high school student. I have been doing artwork my whole life, and have been a freelance commission artist for about a year and a half. I will post some of my other work so that you can get a feel for the quality of my work.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you! Harder to get small details on this watercolor paper, never tried it before! Business is slow but I just keep in my mind that I just started painting about a month or two ago.

Are you using the water-based oils?

No, but I gesso'd the paper before I used it to prevent absorption and such, should I use water-based oils?

Might give you some different options as far as color mixing goes as well as use the ability to use the paper to your advantage too. Allow some absorption into the paper to use it as watercolor paper is intended.
If you want to paint on a paper surface try a plastic fibered paper called Yupo paper. It's interesting stuff and it doesn't seep into it. Still need to be gessoed though.

Will do! Going to research Yupo paper now. Thanks for the tip!
