Michelin Shortage?

Hey folks,

Pops works at a dealer (not Toyota dealer) and I'm able to get great deals on tires through their vendor...went with the Michelin LTX AT2's. After the order, the tire guys calls and says they are back ordered 30-90 days and its looking like the later end of that scale. However, he doesn't really have any more info than that. Anybody here have any insight on this? Anyone with knowledge know if the shortage will end sooner rather than later?

Thanks for any advice--I know its kind of a shot in the dark asking about this, but thought I'd give it a go.

 

Costco has them in KC. Not that it helps your situation. But just saying they arent out of stock here.

 

I'm also looking for these tires, local discount tires told me they were on nationwide back order. They even contact Michelin directly and told me that Michelin doesn't even have a date when production for this tires would begin.

 

I placed my order several weeks ago and checked back (again) yesterday and was told the same thing. I ended up canceling my order and going with the Discount Tire ebay special for some Cooper Discoverer's. I'll save a couple hundred and get them this week or next, so seemed like a no-brainer, although i was REALLY looking forward to those LTX ATs. Maybe next time.

 

Yes we Cooper have prob half million tires in our warehouse LOL ready for shipping, with thousands going into trucks everyday... And that's just our plant...
