I am new to the Tacoma community to please bear with me. I recently bought my 08 tacoma 4x4 off of a buddy... only 60K miles. I heard some creaking coming from the leaf springs(i assume). Im not too concerned as Im gonna chalk that up to dirt and dust. Some lithium grease ought take care of that.

The creaking got my wondering though... is there any other common problems that these 08 access cab 4x4s have? Im sure theres another thread for this somewhere... but anything specific to my model would be greatly appreciated.

If you buddy took care of her, no issues that arent common place here (frame, leaf springs, etc.), they are proving to be solid trucks minus a few kinks that can be addressed, lots of guys with 150-200k +

    Alex, welcome and congratulations.
60K on an 08 is on the lower end of the use spectrum.
I've had 2 access cab sports, current 14 model.
Besides use and/or abuse, where you are in the country affects maintenance needs, as well as issues that can impact the lifespan.
Snowy climates affect the truck and its maintenance needs.
Give more info, and those from your area can chime in with helpful hints.
I hope the truck is as good as it sounds.
