    noob here:sorry:

I thought I had it all figured out after reading hundreds of posts only to find out that I'm one of those losers with a 2WD and thus I can put spindle lifts without changing out the UCAs, etc. Yes, I'm only lifting for looks. :jerkoff:

    I have a 2013 PreRunner 2WD
Would like to put something like the Maxtrac 3" or 4" up front and am wondering what the thoughts/opinions from the veterens here are regarding rear suspension to make the truck level, etc.?

    1. What rear suspension/lift would you use with the 4" spindle lift? I want a better than stock ride if possible.

    2. Do you still need a plate on the driver side to avoid lean when using a spindle lift?

    3. I know it's not necessary with spindles, but would changing out the shocks give it a smoother ride?

Thanks in advance for any insight/advice.

Welcome to TW. I cant really help out with the spindle question as I am 4wd, but to level with the spindles the OME Dakars are really popular. I have ALCAN AAL that I really like that would get it close to level. You will still need a leveling plate to get rid of the drivers side lean or adjustable coilovers. I have the ICON's and really like them. The ICON's will definitely give you a smother ride. I am sure the King/Fox coilovers would as well. I do not know about the Bilsteins/OME/ToyTec from experience but I am sure they would as well. There are many reviews/recommendations for them and they are considerable cheaper.

There is a lot of information on here for prerunners as well as 4wd on lift recommendations. happy hunting.

2WD can still be fun with the right budget :D:

    1. Stock truck has rake. Front end is about 1" lower than the rear. All-Pro "standard" leaf pack which gives 3" lift in the rear will level out the truck. OME Dakar is a slightly stiffer alternative. Avoid stiffer leaf packs if you drive mostly with the bed empty (like I do).
    2. The stock truck has some lean (about 1/2"). If you are OK with that amount, then no trim plate necessary.
    3. Depends on the shock. Some shocks (e.g. Icons) are designed to be firm over small stuff (potholes, pavement joints) but soak up the bigger hits. But yeah, changing out the shocks will alter the ride.
