Anybody else have a cool Jeep project their working on? Being as though we love Tacos and Jeeps, we'd love to see it!

Now that the RebelTaco is at a point where I can pick up where I left off down the line, I needed a new project to keep me busy. Chopped top, 360 engine, Dana 44 front, built up AMC 20 rear with detroit locker, 6" lift, 35's, and a fabricated roll cage.

It's gonna be a summer project, something to drive around locally, scoot around the beach during the summer and take on light trails. So far, in 3 days we got the engine put back together, and it seems to be running solid. Needs a few parts here and there, but the heart of it is all there. We've even dubbed it the "Rebel SJ" as this platform is known as the Jeep SJ.

    Our plans are the following:

    40" M/T's
17 or 20" beadlocks, not sure yet
    1 ton axles
    Lockers
    1350 driveshafts
    Re-paint matte black
    Built tube doors for it
Powdercoat cage and front bumper a poppin' orange
    Mesh shade cover on top
5 KC or equivalent halogen or HID round lights mounted to roll bar
    aluminum interior panels with rivets
aluminum dash board with new autometer gauges
    floor shifter
    new suspension seats and harnesses
Crawl Tunes speaker cans mounted to roll cage
    New stereo
    Viper alarm
    Truck-Lite headlamps

Hoping to have it all done by the end of the summer. :D

It's a 1980 body and chassis, no idea on the engine, but everything else is VIN matched. I'll peek around for an engine tag one of these nights. Brought her home to work on, since we have over 20 vehicles in the shop at the moment.

First updates will roll in as they happen, but with 2-3 weeks on the road coming up, it'll be a late start to the project.

    Yes sir
Very nice, that Jeep has a real classic, bad ass, off road look. I wanna do a full off road build on a '78-'79 Ford Bronco
