So I'm lifting my truck(98 Taco) about 3 inches. I was planning on 16 x 8 black steel wheels{4.25" of backspacing on the ones I'm looking at, 6 on 5.5 of course}. As far as tire size I was kinda set on 305/70/R16 or 33x12/R16. I was hoping to get feedback on your first hand experience on multiple brands of tires. I will be using the truck as a daily driver with offroad use only in hunting applications...and I want it to look sweet. I am really looking hard at the Toyo Open Country M/T.

Any words of advice/info will be much appreciated. Thanks.

5100's all around, 2.75 inch lift, polyurethane body mounts, gibson exhaust, variation of the deckplate mod, intake resonators removed 285-75-16 goodyear AT
For that size tire I would recommend a bit less backspacing, possibly 4 or 3.75 inches.

According to Toyos site, the 8" you are looking at is the minimum wheel width for that tire, with 9" being the recommended.

Also, that's an E rated tire, that weighs 72# (!) plus whatever the wheel weighs.

That will impact everything, as unsprung weight is not your friend.

Just something to consider on a daily driver.

Great information guys. Thanks. Any tire suggestions that might fit what I'm looking for? BF Goodrich?, Mickey Thompson?, Nitto?, Goodyear?(I'm researching all of these now).
