How to tie down lid?

    Bought my brother in laws 2007 tacoma that has a Leer lid on the back - looks really sharp, but my 10 foot surfboards stick out the back of the 6 ft bed when we go to the beach and need to find a way to tie down the lid so it doesn't bang the boards or flop all the way up. I don't see any tie downs on the lid, so any suggestions -- thanks

    If I have something hanging out the back of the shell, I use bungee cords on the latches and hook them to the bumper.

    I'd suggest putting them on top with a rack, though.
