I have some chips on the roof and on at least one fender that have developed a little rust before I could get to them to touch up...

I'm wondering if I should get a full paint job on truck with preservation of the whole body in mind, or mask off and rattle can and wet sand the areas needing attention, or try some other method to keep the body looking decent and last ?

The big thing that would steer me away from full paint job would be that fact that's it's going to get pinstripe scratches again in the clear coat due to camping areas and offroading. So I can't decide what to do with it

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
3M makes this handy little pen for sanding out the chips then touch up the spots. [IMG]

I couldn't possibly be worse at anything involving paint.

That said, I do have the best luck with a touch-up pen.

The duplicolor one is similar. Has an abrasive top for sanding, paint and clear coat

I haven't tried any of these products.... I will definitely look into it.

We talking Advanced, Autozone, or Pepboys ? I know they carry some Duplicolor stuff.

I played with some body work at one point in my life, but I've been away from it so long, that's why I figured I'd ask.

    Thanks for the ideas !!!

The one on the roof is kind of big, no idea how it got there.... If the pen works well on the fender, I'll give it a shot on the roof.
