I don't know if its already been said....(I haven't been following the thread)

It depends on what type of locker you get.

You can get a 'lunchbox' locker which is the cheapest locker to get - and it replaces the spider gears inside your diff. You can install them yourself.

Lockers that are more expensive & involve a 'carrier' replacement, also involve setting up gears - which is higly involved technical process and can be expensive to have a shop do it. I might add - If you try to setup gears by yourself without the precise knowledge, you could prematurely ruin your gears & locker.

Anyone know if the Aussielocker works on the 05+ Tacomas? I went to the sight and didn't see the new Tacoma 05+ 4x4 listed anywhere in there product offering.

I heard back from them and this is what they said about having an offering for the 05+ trucks:

"We are confident that Australia engineering and USA marketing will be addressing this model for technical and market issues. However, it will be next year before they can put that effort into their schedule and we cannot predict the outcome at this early date. We do appreciate your continued interest in the Aussie Locker."
