Does the failure of the frame at the motor mount trigger a frame replacement these days? All of a sudden my engine fan is getting into the shroud and I suspect I'm going to find the mount pushed into the frame on the passenger side.

Confirmed driver's side suspension console has caved into the frame.

    Terrific.

Calling Toyota in the morning to speak to their frame inspection Tech.

Being a "05 in Ontario you should be able to get that replaced on Toyota's dime.

I have received the letter instructing me to get my frame inspected. So I am hoping this failure will trigger the frame replacement. I was just concerned based on the trucks with this same failure that have been denied assistance.

I've done it to both sides and just repaired myself - welded back in place and gussetted with DMZ's gussets.

I'm wondering if I should keep this truck. The dealer is doing a crappy job at doing there job protecting the frame. What if it fails in a few years???? I already have a crappy motor with only 100000 km on it( oil burner)

I took the truck in this morning. The frame failed the inspection and I am now in a rental.

I will be waiting to see what Toyota Canada says once the dealership files their report.

That's the exact same failure as on my truck.

My dealership pulled my truck off the road and gave me a rental.

You might want to call the dealership and ask to speak to their service manager and ask why you were allowed to drive away in an unsafe vehicle.

Or, contact another dealership. Is there another one close by?

My MIG welder is ready to go in the garage. My preference, however, is to have Toyota solve their problem for me. I will fix what I break.

This is a common problem amongst 05 until early 07 I believe. The later years came with frame reinforcements at the motor mounts and the problem has seen to have gone away. After they fix yours, yours should as well. Keep the truck. They are a solid power train platform. You move to a different vehicle and you are going to have an entirely new set of issues. Some unknown and some semi documented. The issues on these vehicles are well documented and there are many solutions for them equally as documented.

Just got my 05 V6 6speed stick shift 4by4 xtra cab back from the dealer. It was picked up from my driveway and after about 4 days it was driven back. It had excessive frame rust and in some places had rusted thru. Toyota replaced the frame, rear springs, front lower control arms and the whole lot of other rusted stuff underneath. List of parts was looong. All this was done at their expense. Even offered a rental which i declined as i had other cars to use. Drives like a new one again. I did not have to scream and yell, just received a letter in the mail and a call from local dealer whom were very polite and helpful.

Non, ils ne peuvent pas vous refuser. Le frame n'a rien Ă  voir avec la suspension. Mais ils peuvent ĂŞtre des trous de cul si ils veulent.

(No, they cannot refuse you. The frame has nothing to do with the suspension. But they can be ass holes if they want.)

tell him he will need to provide you a detailed explanation of how your basic suspension upgrades affect the frame condition that toyota has clearly admitted to with all the frame replacements they've been doing. this should trigger the retard to think a little and realize he makes no sense at all. total bs. he may just be trying to avoid any complications but still pretty retarded.

Yes. I will be handing them over to the Tech when they start reassembling.

    In 6 months or so...
