2005 TRD Off Road SR5 Access Cab

    Currently set up-
2.5 Daystar spacer lift in front
on stock OEM shocks and coils
2" blocks in rear w/ stock OEM shocks
    1.25 Spydertrax spacers
285/75/16 Goodyear Duratracs on stock TRD wheels

My shocks are shot and feel pretty much worthless at this point. I spend a decent amount of time off-road, but try to keep the temptations to really go wheeling for the Jeep ( since its already beat to hell). Soon, I plan to go back to 265/75/16 but want to stay slightly lifted. Total Chaos UAC's are also coming soon.

I want to get rid of the Daystar lift and find a smoother/softer ride with either Bilstein 5100's, OME or maybe Toytec. Here is where I get overwhelmed. The combo of Billys and new coils or is coilover a better option? Then, should I go with AAL or spend the extra for new packs? Is some combo of this going to give me apx 3" lift and give a smoother ride? AND THEN do I NEED a diff drop?

Ive read and read on TW and clearly there are tons of options. Price is a mild factor. Trying to stay under $2000 but I'm open to quality options. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks

^^^^^what he said, do it right. At the age of a 2005, def get new rear leaf packs with whatever option you do. OME would be a good choice for you, a great lift that doesn't cost a fortune. I opted for Toytec coilovers personally on my lift. When I replace my suspension, I'm going with Fox or Icon next time. Spacers and blocks just suck.

    Some stuff...
    Welcome OP!

First and foremost no diff drop. Based on your post your looking at a max 3" lift which is good. As you've probably read, diff drop gets bad reviews from most here.

I'd go OME/Toytech/Boss as others have said. You can get into a very decent lift with AAL for around $1,200 max.

If $ isn't an issue and you want to wheel the Yota instead of the Heep ;), ICON, King or Fox setups will do you really well. If you go this route you could either go the AAL route, or just swap the leaf pack with Dakar, Deaver, Wheeler, etc. But you'll probably have to shim the rear leafs if you swap the factory leafs with one of these aftermarket options and maybe even throw in a driveshaft spacer for vibration correction. Most will tell you though unless you're hauling or towing, Dakar, et al might be overkill. I went full Dakar because I occasionally haul, wheel quite a bit, and might throw a topper and/or RTT on at some point (= more ass-end weigh requiring more support to avoid sagging in the rear).

Get that spacer shit off there though, a well invested & proper suspension lift is very much worth it!

Thanks for the input! Ive been leaning towards the OME and new packs. Just needed a bit of confirmation!

Where can I order a driveshaft spacer? Any specific recommendations? And with OME, should I use factory coils?

Any vendor on here will likely have the CB drop. Like mentioned earlier, with an 05, all the springs are likely shot. New coils would be an upgrade over the stock ones.
