    Hello all.

After searching and reading for what seems like forever, I hereby give up, and shamelessly beg one of you who knows this stuff to help me.

In 2004, I bought a brand new single cab base-model 4x4 Tacoma. My first and only new vehicle purchase. I love my truck. Last year, I removed the old 15" steel rims because the rear rims had rusted badly. I found a set of the 16" alloys that would have come stock on my truck, had I paid for the upgrade to start with, and put new tires on them.

I live in the mountains, and the 2.7L can't maintain highway speed with these big wheels and tires. I want to go back to my 15's, but like I said, the rears are rusted. I'd rather not go back to steel rims, since it's so wet here, and they just rust.

I have found a set of stock 15" Tacoma alloys for sale from a 2000 Prerunner (photo of same rims attached). All the posts I've read have gone on and on about the front brake calipers from 2002-2004 Tacos rubbing most 15" rims. So have any of you run earlier 15" Tacoma rims on the latter 1st gen Tacomas? Do you know if these rims fit?

If it comes down to it, I'll try to arrange to test fit them before I buy them, but in my rural area, tire shops are closed by the time the seller and I can meet up, and swapping wheels on the fly can be tricky out here, since there are practically no flat spots. Any info would be much appreciated.
