2003 tacoma 2.4L 5 speed. Just hit 60k miles. yes you read that right, 12 years old with only 60k on the odometer. I drive once or trice a month. So, it mostly sits in drive way. Mid west Florida.

Upstream oxygen sensor needs to be replaced. I see so many for sale, and a large variety in price. I dont want to have to do this again. What brand should i buy?

    thanks,
    pa

OEM Denso is the best. Others can not work with the computer well or not last as long

It is a simple short band O2 sensor. Just go get one that fits your budget. Cheap.

The OEM Denso is cheap enough that I would not shop around for something that is $10 cheaper but might not last as long as the OEM. There are other things that might be worth it shopping around to save money, but not a part like this. I think I paid about $50 for mine.

    sorry

dang you have the expensive one, this is the best price I could find for it, $90 http://www.ebay.com/itm/DENSO-234-9...sor-/300792425152?hash=item4608a02ac0&vxp=mtr

yes there are cheaper aftermarkets out there but buy denso parts if you want them to work right and last a long time.

other brands just don't work as well as denso parts on these tacos

OK. They are Universal. Reading reviews on O2 sensors is like reading reviews on vacuum cleaners. Some suck, some don't. Just depends on the person doing the review. Take reviews with a grain of salt these days, their are some real idiots out there that don't know what they have or what they are talking about.

Oxygen sensors for Toyota seem to enter into the realm of mystery, different vendors list different part numbers even if the manufacturer is the same. Some people have luck with off brands and some don't. I went to toyotapartsdeal-dot-com and plugged in my vin number then took that output and went to Rockauto to buy the denso, price was pretty good. Haven't installed yet, hopefully will be ok.

I used a Bosch sensor for the upstream and denso for the downstream. I purchased these from Amazon.

Basicly when you go to Toyota they want to plug your vin into their system to get the proper parts and I've dealt with Rockauto before and there prices are good and the service was fast.
