    Does one exist on the road right now?

    IIRC I think Toyota made one that ceased production in the early 1980s. I wonder if any are still going.

    I know nissan has built a diesel frontier. you can check it out on their website. As far as I know, they havnt said they were going to put into production. Though, if they did, I'm not sure if it would be an available power train on the extended cab version. If toyota or nissan made a small displacement diesel, I would be all over it.

    The only ones on the road now are the old ones that they made back in the day and those are few and far between. Toyota does make diesels, but the u.s.doesn't get them.

    ^I probably should have been specific about the location I was talking about.

    Most other countries have more diesel than gasoline options.

    The engines exist. It's a matter of passing the antiquated diesel restrictions in the US that's the problem.
