Hey everyone, I'm a broke college student who's been wanting to get into Tacomas for a long time now. I picked up my first one which is a '96 with a 5VZ-FE V6. It had a blown head gasket which I've already switched out, but now I can't find out where this mystery triangular plug goes. Any help for a new Tacoma owner? Thanks!

I went to my truck, popped the hood and looked. I don't have that plug in that location. It MIGHT go to the oil pressure sensor.

I am guilty also of not introducing myself. Feelings are easily hurt around here. Dickish? Maybe......who cares. We are not in elementary to where we stand up in the class and say our name. LOL. We are all adults. Cheerio!

I see you've got the lower radiator hose off. There is a wiring connection that plugs in just below where that hose comes out of the engine (is that where the thermostat is? I can't remember). I'm wondering if you unhooked it when you were doing whatever work you've got going on and stuck it up by the alternator so you wouldn't forget it.

Pretty sure it plugs in on the opposite side that you have it, right up in behind where the right bank cam pulley is, considering you had the head off i can see how it could have ended up over there, might be pinned in behind the timing cover, it is for the knock sensors

Thanks for the help guys. Sorry for not introducing myself first, I just started browsing the forums willy nilly looking at all the great stuff. I didn't realize there was an introduction page. I'll have the check those spots once I get out of work.

You don't have to introduce yourself to get help around here. The way it should be is you ask a question and get an answer or at least pointed in the right direction. Not sure where that plug goes. I'd like to know the answer as well. I'll be searching for a answer.
    Welcome to TW!

It looks like the knock sensor harness as mentioned above. Still not sure what it plugs into though. The other end should be in the "valley" below the manifold where it is connected to the knock sensors.

    This might help... [IMG]

I did see somewhere it plugs into the wiring harness itself but that really doesn't help that much. I guess trace the harness and see if you find a plug on the main harness. That's all I know to do.
