I'm going to do the welding myself with my 110 stick welder from harbor freight.

Well that is IFS, too. So would probly be more work. 79-85 frame would be easier. Or, if you want simple and cheap, you could use heavy duty zip ties and strap the axle to the bottom of the '15's control arms, wouldn't even have to weld. It worked on that one dude's lightbar.

You are going to cut apart a 2015 truck? Install a SAS for 500 dollars with parts that are 30 years old?

    Sweet, post lots of pictures!

I am in full support of this project. Do not listen to the haters!

sounds like a bad idea. if you wanted to hack up a truck you should have got a used one.

skip the leaf springs. Andy will have some extra exhaust tubing here shortly that you can probably pick up from him for cheap. nice big diameter would make for some strong ass links, and help fit your $500 budget.

Forget the 110 welder...you would do better with a couple of batteries and some slightly damp rod. Also, forget the exhaust tubing for links...simply sneak around and "borrow" a bunch of high lift handles...they would make much better links!

Haha yes April fools, done a solid axle swap before but not with high lift jack handles and a $500 budget
