On my morning commute I get an awful glare on my hood. I am thinking of putting vinyl on the hood to help reduce this, as I spend a large amount of my commute squinting and with limited visibility.

Has anybody done this? How is the durability? I figure once I do this I'd better like it due to paint fade.

I'm thinking something similar to the attached photo.

I did it to my white jeep wrangler and love it. Definitely helped with glare especially with the white paint. I've had mine on for about 5 years now and still looks new. Just try not to wax it or put a lot of pressure on it when wiping it. Mine is a factory oem part from a different jeep trim package so couldnt tell u the specs.

I've got a white hood and I've yet to have this problem. I drive directly into the sun in the morning going to work and it hasn't been a problem. That said... I do kind of like how that vinyl looks on that truck. I "personally" wouldn't do it but it is a option.

The sunglasses mod is another option. Installation is fairly easy from what I've read.

Interesting fact: Most states spec school buses so that they require a "lusterless black or lusterless yellow" hood for exactly this reason.

I have never had a problem but my buddies with the silly fake scoop get major glare all the time.
