    Hi,
I was hoping some one would have an idea on my problem.
Installed a pair of light force 170 a few years ago, with a factory switch and all was fine for over a year. Then they stopped working last fall, and now it has warmed up, I am trying to figure what's up.
I just checked the fuses, swapped a relay, and metered up to the relay, both on and off. All is ok, but no lights.
I guess my next step would be to check power going to the lights, and I suspect there won't be any, I checked all the wiring, so what would be the issue?
I doubt the bulbs are toast, 2 bad relays seems odd, any ideas would be appreciated.
    Cheers

Check the switch! Be sure there is power to activate the relay(s)

In addition--be sure your GROUND has good contact.

Thank, Ok, I will re check the grounds, though they seemed ok.
With the switch/relay, when it is off i have power to one relay terminal, and when the switch is pressed on there is power to 2 terminals. I thought this shows that the switch is working, and now the relay is energized?
I really dislike the idea of taking it all out, and starting fresh.
    Cheers

Switch is working--check the inputs and output of the relay. be sure the switch output is reaching the relay(relay input)to energize the lights.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the help!
Yes, it is wired like the diagram, except the light force loom had an additional wire to tie in to the high beams, which I didn't hook up, and kinda forget what I did with it, duh. Though, the lights worked for over a year, so that shouldn't be the problem.
Tomorrow, I'll double check the relay with the meter, and try to direct power the lights to check the bulbs. I haven't ran them close to 2000 hrs, but if it were just both bulbs, that's crazy.
If that is unsuccessful, I guess strip all out and start again.
    Cheers

Direct connect is a good idea-that will help isolate the problem. Let us know how it goes.

Wow, I feel kinda dumb, I used 2 other relays to check if that was the problem. They were ones I had around for whatever reason, well, I should of threw them out at the time. I metered everything, and was about to directly check the lights when I realized there was no power to the lights leads, thus no power switching at the relay. Went and bought a new relay, and, abracadabra, I have light!
That only took about 3 months to fix, and only a $5 part. I'll keep spare relays (new ones) on hand, do you think switching the lights on/off too many times burns out the relays?
    Thanks for all your help!
