Do you bother to hide your GPS to prevent brake in?

I’m got tired of hiding my gps and left it on for a year, it’s small, old unit that probably would sell for $40 on ebay. I just upgraded to $150 unit that can be sold for $80 used on ebay….

Someone mistook my Ultragauge on my windshield as a GPS and busted my window and stole it. Only worth $50 and they even ripped the cord out making it useless. Had to drop $$ on both a window and a new gauge. I say hide it if you're parked in public for an extended period

some of this, a little of that
i hide it, why give them a reason to bust a window. It is such a hassle to get it replaced and then re-tinted as well as replacing anything that was taken. I would rather just take a sec and hide the GPS

I always put it away after I use it....just because I don't want all the cords & crap dangling everywhere.

Funny....several years ago, I accidentally left my truck unlocked over a weekend. Someone got in...stole my ipod out of the center console. They also stole an M4 airsoft rifle (they probably thought it was real) that was in the back under some clothing. The Garmin Nuvi...was hanging on its cradle by the air vents. They never touched it....

Our neighbor found the airsoft rifle in their front yard. They must have ditched it when they found out it wasn't a real rifle. Durr.....

Personally....I don't lose sleep over it. I bought a Console Vault and I use my phone for most of my navigating now.

I live in the desert southwest [120 degrees in the shade] kills windshield mount. so I mount my 5" Garman down in the cubby in front of the shifter. I made a mount from a piece of 12 ga. aluminum with a 90' bend and modified the Garman mount to bolt to it, added a 1/2" thick piece of rubber [old mud flap] for weight and bundled the cord behind so there is just enough to reach the power outlet and the whole thing just slides in or out to use in another vehicle. Almost looks factory and has no problem picking up sat signals or traffic alerts. Oh and don't tell any one there is plenty of room for my Springfield XDs .45 behind it out of sight out of mind.

I was thinking doing same thing. Right now I have it siting in that "cubby" but when I drive it sometimes falls. So pictures of your mounting system would be appreciated.

My concern about xds is that it probably not in the holster. Do you have one in the pipe?
BTW your xds is post recall or you had to send it in?
