Bought my 01 Tacoma last year and noticed some rust bubbles popping through. Well this winter has been tough with salt and moisture in Ohio and it's getting bad. Bottom of pass door. Small spot on the hood and driver front fender. Then a larger patch above the tailpipe.

Now I'm trying to decide weather to "spray liner" the bottom Portion of the truck or to actually repaint. Any suggestions. I'm gonna repaint the hood and fender. The rest I was gonna "spray liner"

Before you do anything, you need to remove the cancer completely.

Hopefully, it's not bad enough that there's still metal to preserve.

I would paint it. At least for a base protection.

The DIY spray liner kits will eventually come off when exposed to the elements ( within a few years)and you'll have to apply it again. I had Herculiner in my bed (96 taco) and painted over the rails (tonnea cover over bed). The Herculiner that was over the rails wore off in a matter of 3 years. I had to reapply.

I might look into bullet liner. I heard they are good. And I'd imagine a professional application prob would be better than a DIY

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
You've got to stop the rust. Maybe try something like this first [IMG]
