I used two small batteries from an old rechargeable lawn mower for pretty much exactly the same setup you're after. They were free and even though the batteries were near the end of their lifespan they still had enough in them to keep some LED lights, small 12v box fan and enough juice to recharge my phone/camera over a weekend camping . They worked great cause I had the charger from the lawn mower and I used the battery mounts from the law mower to mount under the bed.

This was on my old ranger, I've since sold it and am buying a canopy for my new Tacoma and building a similar system in the back. Batteries are now toast, but I'm going to buy a bigger AGM deep cycle battery around 100Ah and build a new control box for it

Here's some pics, battery pics are blurry but you get the idea.

Was able to get out this weekend, first trip of the year. Spent a single night at Sloquet Hotsprings. I did a loop and came in from the south via Harrison Lake FSR. The road gets pretty bad near the north end of the Lake. Had to put the truck in 4 Low for some sections, but ultimately nothing a stock Tacoma like mine can't handle. I did about 180 KM of gravel/dirt FSR from Harrison to Pemberton, BC. Most people come in to the hotsprings from the North via Pemberton, which is close to Whistler, BC for those unfamiliar with the area. It was cold and we got a little wet but the natural Hot Springs made it all worth it.

This is the route, red is pavement, grey is all gravel FSR, where it T's and doubles back on itself is where the Hot Springs are located. Great Drive, and highly recommended for anyone that lives in the area. Definitely saw lots of Tacoma's up there!

    Heres some pics.

I didn't snag any photos of the Hot Springs themselves as we ended up trekking from our campsite to the springs at night time, which is about a 5 minute walk. The springs sit along side a river and was perfect hot tub temperature. Sandbags and rocks dam the water up to create pools. The springs actually get washed out by the river depending on the time of year.

Heres a Photo I snagged from elsewhere on the net.

I was also able to scout out a few different campsites that I might check out once summer comes around.

Yea its definitely been on the list to check off for a while now.

Another loop that I want to tackle this summer is from Harrison East FSR over to Nahatlatch Valley. I was up at Nahatlatch Valley last summer and I checked out part of the road on my Dirt Bike and a section of it was unpassable in a stock truck because of a washout. Hopefully that's been fixed by now. There is also another Hot Springs along the way worth checking out.

Nahatlatch Valley is also a must see destination and also not as popular or well known as Harrison Lake which can become a zoo during peak summer weekends/holidays. Nahatlatch Valley is at the top of the map right where the red (Pavement) turns to grey (Gravel - FSR). There's a series of lakes all connected by Nahatlatch River running up the stretch of valley with lots of campsites either on the lake shores or along the river.

May have to check that out. I'm looking for some relatively close hunting spots. One or two night sleep out.

    Some stuff...
First time up the mountain this year.

    Truck tent is all setup.
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Started raining a little after 2AM so had to throw on the rain fly. Of course as soon as I got the damn thing on it stopped! Next time I won't trust the weather report and just put it on when I setup.

Lookout view coming down the mountain.

First time using my Master Flow 1050 Tsunami portable air compressor. I gotta say the reviews on this are spot-on! It look less time to fill my tires from 15 PSI to 35 PSI than it did to air them down.

A little spring break trip. Still working out the camping setup, but it's fun.

That's about as close to a perfect campsite as I could ever imagine.
