Good idea! I'm still trying to figure out why they're putting a $12,000 frame under a truck worth $9-$13,000..... Why not just give me the freaking $12,000 to buy another damn truck.

That is a damn good question. Brand loyalty?? Put a new frame in it, and you'll love it for another 10 years? :notsure:

If I thought it would last another 10 years I might stick with it. But it needs around $3,000 worth of parts from the dealer, in addition to replacing the rusted out tailgate. And both banks are throwing P0420/30 codes which means the cats are fouled and run around $1600+ each. I'm bypassing one for now with a non-fouler, but I don't know how long that'll last. Or if it should even technically pass inspection with it on. (I go to a small garage up the road because he's lenient on that kind of stuff. I wasn't sure he'd let me pass last year, but I knew the dealer probably wouldn't.)

At this point I'd rather take the 12k and throw it at a new truck.

Personally I say go for an older Tacoma. I got a 97 rolled it, filled all 6 cylinders up with oil and the air intake, cleaned it all out and she runs just fine. Not even a check engine light now. The new Taco's have too much junk to make them "efficient" and all it does is make the truck harder to work on.

I'll agree with the harder to work on part.

    I already put a $200 deposit on a built to order 2015 F150. :D

CRAP!!!! I pretty much gave up on this thread... I look today and see I missed a meet yesterday. So bummed! I had no plans yesterday so I changed the oil and rotated the tires.

Is this the same mud bog as Waterport, NY? If so, I'm going out to it.

Plattsburgh NY here. Will be getting a 2016 as soon as I can order one. Question however, with the snow up in this area and the fact that I commute to Burlington VT for work (worst roads in the country) TRD Off-Road or Sport ? Any advantages either way for traveling in snow ?

Hey man i live up in Potsdam so i know what ya mean about the snow :( I would probaby choose the off-road! If you want excellent snow tires i'd pick the Nitto Terra Grapplers. The combo will plow through the snow.

The Off-Road seems to have a bit more selection for terrain vs the Sport and it's the one I personally would get. Too bad I'm too damn poor to be able to go out and get one lol.
