Simple question. Can the secondary air pump on the newer trucks (with the 4.0L) be removed without causing a CEL and other computer issues?

I have an electrical dongle on my 5.0L Ford that tricks the computer into thinking the EGR is there. Does anybody make one for the Toyota engine?
