I don't understand why you guys are tossing your money at Toyota for the additional full time sandwich maker package. Isn't that what marriage is for...

A truck is cheaper than a wife. A truck is a one time expense, a wife will always find a way to spend your money.

touche, but I was gearing that more towards our already married TW members in the sense of why buy one when you already have one?

    Back on track here fellas.

My beloved 08 DCSB Sport was totaled last month and the day I went to the body shop to clean her out I felt like I was burying my dog.

    Seriously, I loved that truck.

If the sammich maker is to replace the wife, be sure to also get a head unit

Me too. ECU maybe a grand, new truck, what 30k? Makes total sense. Of course I know a lot of people who buy new vehicles every few years just so they never have to put any money into them. I get that but I sure like stuff that's paid for. But back on the original topic I usually sell vehicles that mean a lot to me on ebay, forums, etc. to people that live FAR away. That was the case on both my 85GT and my 79FJ40. I actually had tears in my eyes the day I drove away from my FJ40 being loaded onto a transporter. I'm keeping tabs on it, hopefully someday i'll get it back.

Not a day goes by where I don't think about it. I built it over the course of about 10 years and had it for 12. I'll get another one if I can't wrangle a way to get mine back eventually. My goal was to have it ready to go to rubithon by the time I was 40. I sold it on my 40th birthday almost 2 years ago.

    Just bought it!
Traded my Taco in back in December. I definitely still miss it. I always look forward to having another one when I see them out on the road. I only traded mine in for a Tundra because my daughter was outgrowing the back seat on my access cab. I sat in the back seat of a Tacoma double cab and it still felt kinda cramped, plus I wanted to keep the option to fit a couple car seats back there someday and felt like a teenager and two car seats in the back of a tacoma just wasn't gonna make for any enjoyable drives. Someday when back seat space isn't as much of an issue I'll trade the Tundra back in for a Tacoma and feel at home again.

At least I got a warm going-away... I posted a picture of my old and new truck together in the "what did you do to your truck today" thread and just had someone tell me to get lost. You meet the nicest people....

Been there. The day I traded my 00 dakota for a spankin new tacoma I actually shed a tear thinkin about all the road trips and memories I made in that truck and all the gd effin money I put into it to keep it on the road! I don't know if those were sad or joyous tears.

Wish I could say I missed the 96 4Runner I put 385,000 miles on, but I stepped up to a 08 Tacoma prerunner. But it never made the grade to replace the 4Runner. I modded it, did service at suggested intervals, bought new tires and wheels and I just never felt it was the right truck. I remember looking at a Indigo blue access 4X4 that was very appealing when shopping to replace the 4Runner, but it was a manual and once in rare while the wife needs to drive my truck while the BMW is at the spa. A buddy mentioned a Dark Blue Tacoma on a Dodge/jeep lot near his house and that was all I needed for a road trip. Two days and 4000$ later I had a dark blue 2012 4X4 access cab with my wheels and tires on it. The dealer was tired on people driving the Toyota and leaving without buying a Jeep. The white taco was on the back lot, but a 20 something was test driving as I left. Hope he got it for auction price, it was a good truck, but needed the spring recall done.

So do I miss the 08? I am just to busy fixing and driving to think about it.
Besides I have a picture of it.
