Has anyone ever thought of making an armor bumper that looks like the stock rear bumper? Would it even be possible? Reason I ask is, I really like the look(overall) of the rear bumper but also want the extra protection/sturdiness that comes with it being thicker.(armor)

Am I making any sense? There may have been something in that open water that I just drank

    yes it is possible

but you need a huge multi-ton metal drop press to make those curves in a
sheet of thick steel and ...that ain't happening by any fab shops.

you may get something fabbed up by welding smaller pieces and grinding off the welds
that would work... but much time and effort $$$$$

I was also thinking of the ones in those links. Brute Force is also very close to stock.

Why yes it is. If it's worth doing it's worth over doing!

This dates back to an old fleet of F-250 service trucks my outfit had - we got the cheapest, painted (new) bumper stamping we could find. Then we armored it as required on the backside - fitted heavy duty hidden supports, rigged the tow points through it and so on. Kind of buffed off the rough outside edges from construction, blasted it, and then painted with the same "highway jello" as the originals. Worked this through all six of them by swapping them out.

Wasn't a perfect solution - but you could use the ends of them as "recovery points" - or make do pipe benders. Saved them from looking too snarly from casual contact......
