Hey all, I have a '99 2.7L Prerunner 4x4 that has been having some issues with the front struts lately. I installed a new set of 5100's a few months ago and decided to just use the original front springs (they had about 200k on them, bad choice: i.e. stupid) and now that the struts are broken in there is about a half inch space that just constantly rattles and clunks on every little bump. You can see below in the picture, the truck is sitting on level ground and the space between the nut and the washer cause the annoying sound. Anyways, anyone else have a problem with this and if so, what worked for you? The 5100's are set at 1.25" lift to level out the truck. I don't have a spring compressor to mount them so I want to be sure that the new springs will fix the issue and deliver a smooth ride before I spend another hour and $40 getting them remounted. Thoughts?

Is the washer and rubber bushing on the underside of the top hat installed?

Looks like you may be missing some parts.

I don't think so but I'll check again. Wouldn't that come in the box though? I know the washer is on because that's what is clanking on bumps

There is another thread where someone had the same problems. If I remember correctly there should be washers and rubber bushings on the bottom of the top hat and on the top.

Spring looks really compressed, but I guess that is because your on the top position on the strut. Do you have the washer/bushing installed on the strut rod below the mount? Silver washer in second pic.
