Alright so I'm new to TacomaWorld and new to a Tacoma. I've had my 98' for over a year now and I have been in love with it since the day I bought it. Now I've got a little money saved up and I'd like to put a little love into my ride. I thought about a 2.5" front end leveling kit. What do ya'll think about leveling kits and if you like them could you suggest a brand or a certain kind? Thanks I'm advance!

Sorry about the mix up guys! I do a moderate amount of off roading, no rock climbing, and I'm looking to spend 150-250. Is there anything decent I can buy with that kind of money?

As mentioned, spacers and blocks are tempting and most likely could be done within your budget but the problem really is your stock suspension is worn out. A spacer lift is a temporary solution at best because your springs are worn out.

The good news is, there quite a few options available to you for a 6 lug 4x4 1st gen but you are going to have to spend more than $250 to do it.

2nd the Quicklift - picked up a set from AZN for $260 and am satisfied; they replaced spacers and the truck rides much better and sits level now.

Not sure about that Rancho lift, it isn't adjustable and maxes out your upper ball joints. Do a quick search on them.

It really depends on how much lift the rancho setup gives. If the OP stays true to his original goals, no more that 2.5 inches of lift, and does not use an extended travel shock, he will not put too much pressure on the stock upper bj.

It is important that any lift allow plenty of down travel and up travel.

So how is the ride quality? Did you need to put an AAL in back for your 1st gen?
And other little things I should know before just slapping them on? Thanks

Sweet yeah I really think the rancho lift will be good to level it out and give me a little clearance. I just want it to perform well and give me a great ride.
