If you don't mind some weld on sliders, just get the 67" TrailGear ones. Fraction of the cost of Slee or MetalTech sliders and still work great. That's what I've had on my '93 for years.

Thanks man! Been good, just been trying to save money lately... This spring I'll be looking to build stuff for the truck. Hard to get motivated to do anything to the truck when it's so damn cold

Not easy man... Replacing my torque converter this weekend. Hope that fixes the transmission problems. After that I need to pound out my rocker panels and bedline the bottom half of the truck, then I'll weld sliders on.

Box rocket, thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely be using those sliders.

Might do a 1" body lift before the sliders just to gain some room in the rear wheel wells. I kind of want more lift too, the under belly on these trucks is quite a bit lower than the tacoma was. My rockets have paid for that already

Oh... And have been house hunting pretty seriously lately. The money tree has been a little tied up :notsure:

Soooo transmission work? Is buying old actually gonna be cheaper than buying new :p? My roommate has a pretty sweet 80 series. The v6 is a dog though. I have to slow down at times to let him catch up.

Haha, we'll see. Feel less bad beating this one up and eventually chopping it up than a 2010 though.

Your buddy have a pre 1993? Engines got a lot more horsepower in 1993... That said she's still not fast by any means. Takes a lot to get a 5000lb truck rolling
