Anyone (without lift) replace Rugged Fails with stock size and regret it?

    I have an appointment tomorrow to replace my Rugged Fails with some Nitto Terra Grapplers, same size 265/70 16. Keep going back and forth on whether I should go 265/75 or not. Anyone (without a lift obviously) stay with the stock size and regret it later on?

    Well since you can fit the 265/75/16s without scrubbage. I don't see why not. Also it's not going to effect gas mileage much at all. Another positive is if you do decide to level/lift in the next few years, you already have a nice size tire

    I have the same feelings as yourself. I am ready to replace my stock Dunflops. I probably will not lift my truck anytime in the next 50,000 miles. Keeping with the stock size makes sense I think, but I keep going back and forth. It's driving me nuts!

    Yep exactly where I'm at. Was gonna lift it, but I don't want to deal with vibes and the rubbing and trimming/chopping I would have to deal with with the bigger tires I would want so decided screw it, just gonna stay stock.

    I just swapped out the crappy Dunflops for some Hankook Dynapro ATM's in the stock P245/75-16 and am very happy with them. 13k since switch and can't even tell any appreciable wear, very quiet on pavement and decent off-road on gravel, rocks and light mud. Haven't had them in snow yet but great in rain and standing water.

    I did the exact same thing except I went with the other Taco size, 265/70/16. Love 'em! Great tires. I am glad I stuck with stock size for now.

    Yes, I didnt swap out the rugged fails, I had dunlop a/t 20's and swapped out for a non oem approved tire, (cooper a/t3) great grip and wear but the truck did not feel right. So I went for a different set of dunlops, a/t21's and they feel loads better but they look very boring... Id actually like to get the bfg rugged trails in the stock size 265/70/16 's because they are Toyota approved and they look really awesome .... and just btw, ann the replacement tires are in the stock size of 265/70/16 just for the record

    Good man, that was probably the best thing you could've ever done for you and your truck was to stay stock. I tried lifting mine and it was just a massive headache, vibes everywhere etc. And now im back at stock lol
