    My DCSB has a cap with a Thule rack

    For short trips I just toss my 12 field and steam yak in the bed but I want to have it on top for longer rides

    How do you guys secure the bow line on your Tacoma's?

    I used to just run the straps across the hood of my jeep but it did rub the paint. Not a huge deal on a 20 year old vehicle but I'm not anxious to do that to my 2014 taco

    Was thinking of a strap under the hood

    Picked up an Ascend FS12T a couple weeks back and WOW, I am super impressed with that thing! So stable and so easy to stand up on compared to my last kayak!

    Spent the weekend on the water here in MO. Crappie were fair. Saw lots of big cats pulled in, but I only managed this 12 pound blue. Not bad for a dude in a 'yak. Foot in the pic for scale.

    I just got a Ascend FS12T too. Took it out for the first time last weekend. I was really impressed with it compared to my other kayak. Definitely got my moneys worth with it.

    If you can up the budget a bit I would go for a Hobe Mirage kayak. It is foot driven so you can have your hands free... perfect for photography. Think about being in a current and wanting to stay on one place. a few pps of the legs amd you stau im one place.I have owned a heritage reddish 14 and a hobie mirage revolution and the hobie was worth every penny in my opinion. I sold mine but I will be getting another one soon now that I have the option to fish again.

    The mirage also has the ability to be versatile. You can get sails for them and duck blinds, among other accessories.

    Wow just found this thread.

    I love fishing for striped bass. Since getting my kayak a few years ago I've had some good luck catching stripers, blues, and snagging bunker for bait.

    I picked up this same kayak a couple months ago! Great first kayak for me. Here are a couple dinks I've gotten while fishing on it in a small pond by my house. Haven't gotten a chance to take it out to any lakes or rivers yet, but looking forward to it!

    I can't speak for the Lure, but I have an older Feelfree Moken 12. It's stable, easy to transport alone, and plenty of room for my stuff. It's also heavy, and slow in the water but in the lakes I use it on, it doesn't really bother me
