    Hi guys
My Tacoma is now on it s 95,000 kilometers.
It still feels very great on the road, but my shocks are original, so I guess it should be time soon to have these replace right?
How much with labor roughly is it to have all four shocks replaced?

    Thanks
    All the best
    Charly

I can't let the wife know
drive to shops and get a quote. The rear shocks are very easy to replace. Try it to replace them yourself to save a little money. Front struts do require more elbow grease.

For install, shops normally charge two hours or 100-200 + Alignment cost. A great replacement option is the Bilstein 5100 shock, which cost about 320 for the set of four.

Do the rears yourself as they're very easy, only to bolts each. The fronts at a bit more difficult but if you know your way around a coil press easy day.

Im sure so will bulk at this, but if all you do is replace shocks and keep it stock height then you dont need an alignment.

Oh and at 90 kilometers I wouldn't change them yet. Get to 100k miles first.

You can also test them to see if you need to replace yet.

Well it is now at 95,000 kilometers.
Though i really don t make much mileage, and to get to 100,000 this will take me around next fall...
I will have the back one done first.
I know that those front strut are much more work!!
    Again thanks for the reply

I am really not a good mechanic,or don t know much at all about mechanic.
So someone for sure will do this work, probably not the Dealer for that.
Though i keep my Taco clean inside and out like a new one most if the time!

160,000 kilometers is 100,000 miles. 95,000 kilometers is almost 60,000 miles. You're only a little more than half way there. ... unless my math is jacked lol

    Yes,around that.
    Canadian mileage is in kilometers.
    So a 100,000 is 60,000 miles.
    My Tac has 95,000 k.
    Lolololo
Also with a new frame last february, and everything that came with that new frame, except new shocks.

The 'labour' (Canadian spelling) is free if you bring beer... and I'll have a 46K set of front coils next week that I can give ya and install. The rears?.. not so much, as I cut them off.

Well i had an estimate done for the back ones first..
Those are shocks from Napa distributors in Canada.
    145 each,plus installation,so 403.00 taxes included.
They are warrenty for life .
The second option is 25 dollars more ,so another 50 dollars for the set, though the first option also has a 50 bucks mail back rebate.
I will start with the back ones, since winter has been over ,Man i just can t stand those original shocks anymore!
I can feel the truck wabbling at every whole that i hit,and our town s raod condition are just terrible..

100 bucks to install rear shocks......
Dude it takes 5 minutes to do it!, not even joking!
4 bolts. 2 on each shock. super easy to do!
buy yourself a decent tool set, install yourself for free, and get some tools out of it.
