...I am a newb and i promise I searched first, i really did!

I think i have more than enough info to figure out how to either plastidip emblems or remove and paint etc.

however, what i cant seem to find are pictures/ideas for those with black tacomas like mine. Makes perfect sense to paint (or plastidip) black for a non black tacoma, but what looks good on a black tacoma? Maybe Rasta?

    thanks

I wouldn't plasti-dip. That stuff is like rubber and can/will peel off.

I would remove & paint. If you can afford it... look into powder coating.

I plasti-dipped my emblems black and they look pretty good on my black truck. I did them a year ago and have been through many car washes since then and no peeling or loss of color at all. I did 6 or 7 coats and so far it has held up great. I know it isn't the best option but I liked the fact that I could black them out with plastidip without having to remove them from the truck.

I have a 2014 dclb and I just did mine last weekend it's super easy to remove and I chose to keep them off and it look amazing I also painted the front emblem matte black after taking it off sanding it down and putting 4 coats of paint on it makes the whole truck look great

I have a 2015 double cab TRD off road model that is black. Every vehicle I get is black and I black everything out.

That being said, I plastidipped my rear chrome bumper, rims and chrome grill and emblem. It looks perfect to me. I didn't use the glossifier either. It holds up great at the car wash. I got mud all over my rear bumper and I power washed the crap out of it up close, the mud came off and it didn't do anything to the plastidip. I say go for it. Dip your heart out

    thanks guys

i already took the TRD stickers off before i give the sun a chance to fade the surrounding paint...

i think i will either be taking off all the tailgate badges or repainting them black, same with side tacoma, already removed the V6...just too much on the back. Seems like the move that chicks like is to put a red TRD on the tailgate in its place?

i will eventually replace the chrome grille surround with a black version along with a TRD Pro grille insert to further my effort on the TRD PoseuRO mobile
