New Engine, new transmission, new exterior, new interior......and you're upset because it not enough. Yet saying how much better the 2nd gen is.....but the new one sucks because it kept a lot of 2nd gen pieces.

I like the second gen, but want better fuel economy and more HP. From your description it sounds like I'm getting exactly that.

I don't think getting the hp numbers up is as important as getting the torque numbers decent low in the rpm range along with "best in class" Eco numbers. That's why most found the 4.0 a good motor. It had the lowest hp ratings of the optional engines available in the midsize class for years. But, it had good low end grunt from the get go allowing it to work satisfactory at speeds low enough to encourage long term survival. I am not impressed with 305 hp at 6800 rpm in a truck. Great passing power at 80 mph is not what a Tacoma is all about.

Everyone here would be ecstatic if it had 280 hp but 280 lb ft of torque, most of which was available where the old one was. That along with solid 20's mpg average mileage would send the Colorado back to the drawing board. The bar is not about HP alone.
