I get flashed all the time. I need to aim my headlights lower. I located an adjuster ( I think) near the upper outer side of the headlight pods. They have a little black cap that a believe needs to be removed. Under the cap is a wheel with an 8mm hex. I shined the lights against the garage door and rotated the adjuster a turn and a half but nothing seems to change.
I was at the dealership today for an oil change and asked the two mechanics how to adjust the lamps and neither could tell me.
    Nothing on youtube either.
    Help please!

I'm amazed the guys at toyota could not help you, anyways see attached. The lower screw adjusts the vertical and the upper screw adjusts the horizontal.

^ What Mike said. Don't touch the one with the black cap. That will adjust the headlights horizontally and you'll blind oncoming traffic.

Thanks, I located the lower adjusters last night.
However I did fiddle with the upper ones with the black caps first ( Toyota Oil Change Techs (2) of them both pointed to the black- capped upper adjusters and said those are the ones to raise or lower the headlamp.

Last time I had my oil changed I noted to the tech that the drivers window is jerky (not smooth)( kind of pulsates) when lowering it for the first 2-3". When they called me to tell me the Tacoma was ready to go. I asked what they found with the window. They replied, it isn't smooth like the passenger window but it opens and closes completely so it should be alright.

Back on topic......how do I adjust the horizontal aim correctly? The adjuster really doesn't seem to move the beam right to left very much at all. I've turned them up to 5 complete turns with little noticeable change 18' away from my garage door.
Does tightening (turning the scew "right") move the lamp right or left?

I hope I never have to take my truck to my dealer for anything important!
The next closes dealer is 2.5 hours away.

Do it with a ratcheting 8mm wrench. I bought one literally just for aiming my lights.

Depends what side you're adjusting, for the drivers side turning the screw cw will move the beam to the right, for the passenger side turning the screw cw will move the beam to the left. Park against a garage door and mark with masking tape where your starting point is before you make any adjustments.
