Anyone break their parking brake cable?

    Several months ago I tightened the parking brake cable because I was having problems with the pedal coming back high enough to turn off the parking brake light. After taking up about an inch of slack the parking brake seemed to be working normal. Fast forward to today and I noticed the pedal has some slack in it again and does not come up high enough to turn off the dash light unless I pick it up with my foot. I'm starting to wonder if the cable is coming apart somewhere to allow it to keep stretching. I took it to the dealer but was told the warranty doesn't cover adjustments and would only cover if it broke. Was wondering if anyone else has had problems with the cable stretching or breaking.

    mostly stock
    The cable is very stout, I doubt it is broken. Pop a drum off and have a look at where it hooks up to the brakes. As the brakes wear the cable loosens.
