I have a 2007 Tacoma 4dr with an automatic transmission. 51,000 miles. Truck sat all winter. Drove the truck for a few days and decided to use the 4 wheel low. Turn knob made a beep sound when in 4L. Took it in and out approx. 3 times when the beep indicator stayed on when the knob was turned to 4w high or 2H. Regardless the 4 wheel Low will not disengage.

    Any help?

Is the truck in neutral? Sometimes I have to roll mine a little bit to get it to work. and make sure the steering wheel is straight!

I've rolled it back and forth, neutral while I turn the knob but nothing. Weird part is the beeper goes off to let you know its in 4WL when its in 4WH and 2W now and does not beep when its in 4WL. I've read that sitting the truck is a problem for the 4WL to disingage but just trying to not take itto a dealer.

Maybe the little actuator on the back of the tcase is sticky. I'm not sure though! I usually throw mine into 4low once a month if I haven't been using it
