I know that there are tons of service members on this site some veterans and some serving now and some looking to serve our great country. So I thought you all would appreciate these websites.
I think they could use some of our support. Some are free to give others are not, but

THEY SCARIFICE THEIR LIVES EVERYDAY!! SO I THOUGHT WE COULD SACRIFICE SOME OF OUR MONEY, OUR TIME, OR ANYTHING TO HELP OUR AMERICAN HEROE'S!!!

Wow great post!! I used a couple companies that provide care packages for my unit while we were deployed to Baghdad. They provide moral for troops and a little something from home that was not provided for us there. Thanks again

This is an absolutely wonderful thread, I work with active duty troops on a daily basis.

A problem I see most often is that when they are planning to leave the service, they have no job prospects.
I know that when I retired, finding a job just to pay the exsisting bills can very difficult.

In my case I was going back "Down Range" to find a decent paying job with private security companies .
Many soldiers think that they will be able to find work with Law Enforcement, but the truth is this type of work in most cases requires a degree of some sort.

One of the few Departments that seem to be hiring alot is the Border Patrol and the promotion potental is fairly rapid, capping out at GS-13 which is good pay.

If service members are retiring a problem I encountered was the age requirement which is 38 yrs or younger, and is the same in most cases for federal and many state/ local departments.

Several folks posting on here have mentioned many of the organizations to support families of the fallen or wounded, and they are outstanding. I can tell you first hand, during my last deployment my little brother deployed with me and he was KIA.

Many of the fore mentioned organizations jumped to support, not only my brothers wife and kids but also helped my family fly from Alaska to Indiana to attend the funeral.

The support was amazing, afew not mentioned were the Blue Star families and Patriot Guard Riders. The Patriot Guard stopped the Westboro Bapitist Church from attending and protesting my brothers service. This group alone saved yours trully, from a life sentence in prison for multiple homicide!

I know that with the ecomony the way it is, it can be difficult to donate money to the many support organizations. But there is a huge pay off for military personal just to be thanked and welcomed back home!
I had an older couple buy my meal in a restruant while I was returning home during "Mid Tour Leave" that really moved me!

However, there is also an uncool way to approach our returning Gunfighters. I was asked by several people after returning, how many I Killed. Some troops have a hard time dealing with their experiences and this approach doesn't help!

GOD BLESS AMERICA and Her Troops!

Thanks for this Thread. Many of the sites that you posted are ones that are used by military and their families. I know this from first hand. Again thank you for your support. Never Forget.
