I have a 2010 tacoma 4cly manual trans, acces cab.
when the truck hit 61k the 4x4 light blinked like it does if you had it in the 4x4 low.

when i try and actually try to change it into 4x4 high or low i do not get the feeling or the sound click. also when i switch it to 4x4 low i do not hear it beep.

any ideas and how to check/fix?

most months i would drive a few hrs with it in 4x4 just to keep the parts moving.

You need to have the truck put on a lift and engage and disengage the system while a tech. rotates the shafts to see which actuators actually are working. With a little luck it may just be a position switch or electrical connection to the actuators. You won't know for sure just going by how it feels as you drive.
