Starting a meet thread so posts don't get lost in the Wyoming BS thread.

The trip will originate from either Lander or Riverton depending on the track we end up choosing to run. Anyone north of Lander/Riverton or near there feel free to join us at the start. For anyone who doesn't want to make the trek all the way up to Lander/Riverton meet us at the Killpecker Dunes/Boars Tusk.

Friday will be spent getting from Lander/Riverton to the dunes/Boars tusk area. Saturday is open to exploration of that area including a stop at the petroglyphs with some wild horse along the way I'm sure. Sunday will be a travel day back home.

Attached to this post is a KMZ file which you can drop into google earth. If you don't have google earth check out this link.

    https://www.google.com/earth/

The attached KMZ is the route from Jeffrey City to the Killpecker Dunes/Boars Tusk and it is what we will be driving on Friday June 5th.

Whomever can attend is welcome! It's 107 desolate dirt miles from Jeffrey City to the dunes, pack accordingly.

Some pictures of the areas we'll see once at the Dunes/Boars tusk friday night and into Saturday. :woot: STOKED for the first meet of the WY wheeling season!

    Right on. Keep us posted!

    I hope so too man!

yea we definitely can. I think We'll just wing the longer route depending on who shows up for the full day Friday. I know the Gas hills like the back of my hand since I worked out there for a year and can just decide what do do when we get out there depending on moisture... Will be needing extra gas cans for the long way haha.

Yes. Loop road will probably be open too, so we could drop into lander from the top of sinks after coming up from Oregon buttes which is a different way out of the dunes than we'll be going in. Holy crap this is going to be alot of dirt miles!!! :goingcrazy: so awesome.

Gonna have to run into rock springs for gas before we head home since there is nothing else closer lol.

For 107 miles? Even I won't need extra for that. But I can bring 15 gals of gas in Jerry cans if needed haha

I vote different dirt route out. Might as well. More dirt is better!

Has to be gas in Eden/Farson too. It's a farming area. And it's on the way.

it's 107 just from Jeff city to the dunes. 45 miles from riverton to the gas hills, add another 20 out there, then 25 more to Jeff city, then add the 107 for a total of 200 ish miles to the dunes. It's 30 miles from the dunes to rock springs. Just thinking about the trucks running all day and I know i'll be getting terrible gas mileage :D I'm gonna have at least one full can.

Eh yea we could go to Farson, it would add some pavement to our trip back, gas is spendy there too though.

Wouldn't it be less pavement then going down and back to rock springs?

We can just do whatever when we decide what we want to do on the way back.

Also there's nothing wrong with meeting us at the dunes to camp Friday night or on Saturday to check out the petroglyphes and the tusk as well as whatever other exploring we want to do. There are dirt roads everywhere around there!
