    hey guys,

long time lurker, and hardly a contributor. Not mechanically inclined at all. Hopefully you guys can shed some light, in the meantime I'll continue with the awesome Search feature. :D

    Backstory:
I have a 2013 DCLB with currently 22xxx km's on it (bought new) and have been getting quite a bit of vibration when gentle braking on highway speed. The crappy part of the story is that I wait till my service to have the dealership to look at. Turns out my rotors are warped and I have NO idea why. I drove the truck regularly ( a daily driver) and mostly city driving and did a couple of road trips in the first year.

Long story short, the service appointment was just a couple of weeks or so after the first 12 month period. And they were "unable" to consider it as a defect and classified it as normal wear and tear. I took it to another dealership for a second opinion, and was unable to help me push through warranty because the first dealership had documented the thickness of my rotors (less than 7mm).

So hoping you guys can share some ideas whether I should just replace my brakes/rotors with stock, or if there's any brake kits you guys have first hand experience on that you would recommend.

My driving mostly within the city, and long road trips to visit in laws. But I am also looking to purchase an RV trailer next year (18' ish), so there may be some towing involved in the near future.

Many thanks in advance for any input.

    Best,
    Dan

Huh, no replies in six months!

You could replace with OEM (stock) rotors at the dealership and spens a small forune for the origina;l performance brakes. But what I would do (and in fact did) is to look at the Total Automotive Performance site and get an upgraded brake set which included new rotors and pads. You need these parts anyway and it is same work to install factory parts or upgraded parts. You will save money and get better braking which you can certainly use if towing or have added weight to your truck. I don't tow, but I have added front and rear plate bumpers, three piece steel skidplates, sliders, etc. Also bigger/heavy tires zap braking performance. You are looking at $200 to $400 for a real improvment (plus installation costs, I installed my own).
