Anyone know if bilstein makes an extended travel 5160 that would work with a Dakar pack?

Regular travel 5160s are only good for 0-1" rear lift but the Dakars give you 2.75" of rear lift.

I checked with Wheelers Offroad and they confirmed that they should be good for up to 2.5" lift. They have similar travel and extended length as the Icon shocks they package with the Dakar. I'm running the same setup but with one leaf removed.

    For 5100s or 5160s?

Weird. I've checked with Headstrong and they said the 5160s would not work with the Dakar pack, but the extended travel 5100s will be ok.

Go with 5100s that are 3-4" lift, last thing you want to do is over extend them like I have.. 12000 miles and blew both of them with my dakar pack. I have 5125's though that are good to 2.5" of lift, go with 3-4" of lift shocks. Trust me

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I'm either going to get the 6112s for the front and pair them with extended travel 5100s and Dakar in the rear ... or just go with a full OME setup in front and back.

It seems like you and I are on the same quest. I want 6112's upfront on the 4th or 5th setting, and a Dakar leaf pack in rear. I plan on having a shell though. Now trying to figure a rear shock....

I would wait to read long term reviews on the 6112's, most likely they will be great but personally I don't like trying something out thats brand new and costs so much. OME is proven great. Go with 5100s in the back for 3-4" of lift and you'll be very happy.
