Hey guys new to the site, does anyone have and thoughts, ideas, and suggestions on what I can and can not do with my 2wd prerunner. I want to make my truck into a nice camping truck that can go most places and to be able to tackle some trails. Just wondering if I would waste money fixing it up if it's a 2wd not 4x4. Help please!!!!

Do what your heart says. I took my truck (prerunner) to Alaska for four years. Did just fine in town. Went down a few dirt roads a couple feet thick as the first truck. Did fine. I never tried to push it too far though. Having the locker helped a couple times..

    Lim(2wd prerunner) = [(^that pic^)/($budget$)]*(time)

But actually the most popular reply you'll probably get is your skill level. I've seen 1wd VW's make it through stuff I'd never expect and 4wd diesels get buried in sand. Get a good set of tires and keep your momentum

I took my 2wd pre runner through a few nasty trails, steep inclines/ declines, deep ruts ext. It was all hard packed dirt though. I don't think it would have made it if the dirt was loose or muddy. I did get stuck in the snow once. I recently put 4.88 and a limited slip rear end. Haven't taken it anywhere exciting since then.
