Hi all. New guy and long time lurker here. I own a 2001 2.4L 2WD 5-lug tacoma with 115,000 miles on it, of which I'm in the middle of doing my ball-joints on. Anyway, I have my truck up on jacks atm, are realized that I really like the height shes at (Roughly the same hight as the 4x4 6-lugs, so 2-3"??)

What would I be looking at in order to get her lifted up? I've never done a lift on a truck and have literally no idea what I'm getting myself into. I was reading in a similar thread for a 2002 taco that the only way to do the front is to go with spindles? I checked the Fabtech website that was mentioned in the same thread and it looks like the they have a full 3" lift kit but for a hefty $700... Yet I was also seeing people saying they were doing theirs for around $400, so I'm a little confused about how much this will cost me. Hopefully some of you guys can set me on the right path.

    This will lift your front

This will lift front, back, and new shocks (the quality of which I can't attest to)

To do it on a budget it looks like your best bet would be to get the spindles used or new, then start looking around for a used set of add-a-leafs or lift shackles. Pretty sure lifting the rear will require new shocks. From what I've heard you'd probably be better off with some rebuilt Bilsteins than those fabtechs in the kit, although I've never ran them
