Just bought a set of 15x10 dick cepek rims and was wondering what's the biggest size tire I could run on them with out a lift on my truck. I will lift it eventually, but just not right now. I'm really wanting to put some 32/11.50 on it but I'm afraid they will rub too bad. I can put a 2in lift right now but will that be necessary? Also, someone suggested 31/10.50, but would they work, or taper?

31 10.50 is the largest with no lift and no rubbing.

My concern is the narrowing look of the 10.50 on the 15x10 rim. And will the 31 add any lift to my truck? How much lift is needed to put 32/11.50 s on it? I appreciate your help with this, I really do.

Not sure about a Tacoma, but I ran 32x11.5 on my 94 4x4 with no lift and at full stuff and turn I scraped the inner pinch weld slightly. I beat the pinch weld flat and trimmed the inner fender plastic slightly. I think a lot would depend on the rims you use and their backspacing.

on a stock wheel you will rub with 32 on the pinch weld, the frame and maybe the upper control arms.

Going with a more aggressive wheel back space will help some.

Also a 1-2 inch lift should be fine

I'd look for some new wheels or wait till you get a lift. A 33x12.50 even looks goofy on a 10" wide wheel though

The picture in my original post are the wheels I bought. I think
I got a great deal and those are 33/12.50s on them now. I only have $400 in the rims and tires but 2 of the tires are no good. The other 2 have more than 50% tread left. I'm not opposed to selling them and going down to a 9in or 8 in, but these tires sure would look bad ass under my taco.

To each their own.. I would not run them..

They are really wide so you will kick a lot more dirt and debris up on the truck, they are heavy as fuck to expect with the larger size and heavier wheel tire combo to lose 20% power and 2-3 mpg or more.

You should run a 265/75/16 with a 4.5 back space wheel for best results on that single cab.

    Thats essentially a 32 11.50 inch tire.

I still have the rims on my truck that is in the photo on my profile. But they came off of an 05. They're 16s and i coulld use them for now but really dont like them now that i'm ready to invest a little money into my build. I know the 3.4v6 is rare these days to find so I want to put a little bit into this thing to make it badass. I'm in no rush and have plenty of time.

Yeah I was on a hunt for that truck but decided the extra cab was better since my last was a 98 single cab, plus mine a TRD with locker and power everything.

and you're a pre runner so lighter truck, plus the factor of speedometer correction might not be correct.

I mean being feet above sea level, there aren't many hills lol but towed a 18ft bass boat for a couple years all around the east coast.

But OP id honestly just wait to lift and get 33s will save you money in the long run

Yeah a 10.50 on a 10" wheel will be goofy. A ten inch wheel is really wide for our trucks!

Your question.."will 31's add lift" if they are bigger than your current tires of course they will add lift.

To run 32's and never have to worry about rubbing you should go 2 to 2.5 inches of lift. But you should really go down to an 8" wheel. You mentioned running 33's also... On my old setup I had 2.5" of lift with the pinch weld mod, running 33 12.5 on an 8" rim 3.5" BS, still rubbed quite baddly! So consider that if you want to go with 33 12.5's. Going 33 10.5 would help drastically with the rubbing but I'd still expect it to rub when at full lock/stuff.

5100's all around, 2.75 inch lift, polyurethane body mounts, gibson exhaust, variation of the deckplate mod, intake resonators removed 285-75-16 goodyear AT
Sell the 10 inch wide rims and get some 8 inch wide ones and go with a 33x10.5x15 size(285-75-16). It will require at least a 2.5 inch lift though and a little massaging here and there because of rub and the backspacing should be no more than 3.75 inches. I would suggest doing the lift before getting tires in any case.

32-11.5-15 on stock rims with no lift. slightly rubbed from (not enough to even know when driving) and had to give pinch weld a little trim. DSC_0014_zpszqhog3fj_4193861a4479ead6c829efa6b91fa542bb54c699.jpg
