Also make sure, if you have 4WD, to exercise the system at least once a month for a few miles on some straight roads with fairly loose surfaces.

Fill it with fresh gas, over inflate the tires a bit, put a battery tender on it, and you should have no problems for 2-3 months at a time.

If you want to park it longer periods, use 'winter storage' techniques. You can Google that up for any vehicle.

When you do drive it, make sure you do it long enough that every system has time to come up to full operating temperature before you shut it down. Short runs are the worst for any vehicle.

So if 'driving it on weekends' to you means 3 miles to HD, don't bother. Give it at least a nice 25 mile run. Maybe drive it to work one day a week if your commute is long enough?

Enjoy the Civic. They are fine vehicles and serve many purposes quite well.

Yep. Just be sure to change fluids by the calendar interval specified in the owner's manual. (e.g. change engine oil and filter every 6 mo., regrease driveshafts every year, even if you rack up fewer miles).

You are not the first one to relegate the Taco to weekend toy status. Some builds here have become too impractical as a daily long-distance driver.

Drive it to work once a week.
Or consider selling it, park the money in something else.

It will only continue to depreciate.

x2 I would use fresh ethanol free gas and a smart temperature compensating charger, for example, Battery Tender Plus, BatteryMinder, Solar Pro-Logix, etc.

    That's cool! :)

Just I have made the mistake of occasionally holding on to equipment too long because of lack of when I have time, and then, it turns into more hassle than it was worth.
Esp mechanical stuff. Not being run is the worst thing for it.
    jmho.
