    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    Modern DI engines actually put out their torque at a lower RPM. The peak torque might be higher, but they can have 90% available below 2000 RPM.

    That engine makes 90% peak torque starting at 2k rpm til redline. Hardly something to laugh at :rolleyes:

    Here is a graf of % of the peak torque in the entire powerband for the 2gr-fe,,,, you can see 92% of peak torque at 2000 rpm

    Exactly I don't know why everyone is up in arms about the unconfirmed 3.5L specs when you see the other different versions of it. I'm not a fan boy by a long shot but I gotta give Toyota props for putting a version of this engine for truck use :thumbsup:

    BTW you can see the dip of torque at 4k rpm due to the variable valve kicking in and goes back to max torque. A winner IMO.

    I have also heard that the Atkinson cycle could increase engine longevity when compared to cylinder deactivation. No issues with uneven wear.
    To me it seems like a logical choice for increasing fuel efficiency at cruising speeds.
