Got a 2015 doublecab V6 4x4 and it is really hard to handle on the highway in windy situations. Seems like I have to have a death grip on the wheel. Dealer didn't find anything wrong with it and stated that probably because it sits up higher, I am feeling the winds more, now. I had a 2006 Ford Ranger 4x4 that I traded in and it never got pushed around in the wind like this truck. Anybody else have this problem?

If you think that truck gets pushed around, drive a first gen. The trucks are pretty light and they do sit up pretty tall.

I noticed the same thing on my 2015 DCSB, but its whole lot worst than my 2006 Dodge 2500 Quadcab 4x4 that has a higher stance and a whole lot more side area for the wind to hit. Not sure the cause, but I have to keep on my toes when its windy.

Make sure tires aren't over inflated this makes it worse.

That extra ton in the Dodge helps.

OP, it's something to get use to. Mine does it too, but at the same time it tries to stay in the grooves.

Yeah my 2015 Tacoma DCLB 4x4 doesn't like the wind either. LOL I drive down the interstate wondering if other drivers think I'm drunk. Not that I leave my lane, but the wind pushes you around a bit for sure!

My last vehicle was a Camry. I can definitely 'feel' the difference driving with wind. Whether it's into it, with it, or perpendicular to it. It grabs the Tacoma much more than it ever did my Camry.

Imagine what it's like with a truck topper? More surface area to push around?

Tacoma is a light truck in comparison to most. Nature of the truck unfortunately.

I've had mine for only a week and for two days the wind has been fairly strong. I notice the wind kinda pushing my truck but it has been nothing that requires fighting the steering wheel.

Its not a weight thing in my opinion. If you have ever driven a semi you really feel the wind in those course they have a lot of weight but I remember the first time I felt a good cross wind with pulling a loaded 53 foot trailer...pucker moment.

I have an access cab haven't noticed a strong effect wind wise.

You guys must be driving in hurricane conditions. I have driven in all sorts of high winds 30 to 50 knots and I haven't seen this issue with my Prerunner AC.

I've driven mine through some very stiff winds in SD and WY. Steady winds over 40 and gusts over 60. It does take a bit more attention at the wheel, but I was never pushed around, and thats even with the cap on.

I've had the same truck, dcsb 4x4, in a 2013 and now a 2015 and the 2013 was significantly worse in the wind.

Every drive an old model VW Beetle? Not sure if the new ones are better but THAT is what you call wind disturbance.

No exaggeration, I was spun off the highway one time as a teenager by a big sudden gust of wind, in combination with my Dad's of habit of letting the tires get bald before replacing plus a lot of rain on the road at 65. Lucky a concrete drainage gutter about 10 yards down in the ditch stopped me before the body struck anything else solid.

No problem with my 2010 ac pre runner, but my beat up1999 5 lug extended cab with cap was a chore to drive in high wind. I think from the cap and the shot suspension made the 5 lug so susceptible to wind.
