I'm sure being a major you did a lot more of the theory than I did. I only touched certain classes being my minor. I enjoyed it, but definitely wouldn't want to major in it. I at least had the engineer side of classes with the "tangible" problems as you stated. It's good you have that knowledge though. I've found out there really aren't many that know the physics side of things. And not the physics we deal with in our engineering classes where we throw a rock and it ends up "over there". But the theory of time and space and travel. I find it interesting, the proven and the not.

I'm jealous of your window! We have 650+ people in our building, and not a SINGLE window. It has been changed and added on to so many times, they afraid to add windows because it will probably not be an office for long.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
I do design and I'm not in a cubicle and have a big office and window. Perks of not working for a big boy contractor where you aren't just a number!

I have the manager's office (and the entire 15 cubicle office to myself, to include conference room, men's and women's rest rooms and such). However, it gives me room for a 5' wide drafting table and flat file...

I am losing this space next month, after seven years and probably getting new space in a local Federal Courthouse.

I can see the window from my cubicle, occasionally can't see my screens in the morning due to sun glare, but can't look out the window. Jealous of those with a window!

I said Computer Engineering, but it's really Computer Science (not officially an engineer, and there are slight differences).

I coded for a long time, now I manage software architects/developers/support.

    And I have a window.

BSCE/MSCE/PE After a bunch of years working on airports I've settled into a supervising engineer's gig in the materials lab for a fair sized city. Completely awesome engineering job. I get to work on dams, water lines, sewers, roads, bridges, big tanks, substations, vertical construction, you name it. I could probably make more money on the private side, but I would never have the professional satisfaction this job provides.

You all are making me jealous with your windows! So how many have their PE in here? I'm thinking about taking the plunge next year.

    Step 1: Be engineer
    Step 2: Acquire PE license
    Step 3: ???
    Step 4: Office with window.

Working on my PE. I was a late bloomer to the engineering field and just graduated a couple years ago with my BS, but I've worked in my field for 10 years now.

When I am in the office, I have corner space (a desk in each corner of the room), and there are windows in the room, though they are covered by stain glass and rather small.
